I'm not sure about the rest of you, but when I see a delightful invitation come through the letterbox......I immediately get excited and my mind seems to wonder. So, as I opened it and read that the wedding reception was going to be held at Larchfield Estate outside Lisburn, I grew increasingly excited.
So the weeks passed and before I knew it, it was 10.45pm and my alarm clock was set for 5.45am the next morning. I had a hair appointment at 7am with Victoria Lagan from Peter Mark in Ballymena for my upstyle, but of course I had to have a shower and wash off my last coat of tan (without getting my hair wet). Off I trot up the road with a mini trifle (yes you read correct). I brought a mini custard trifle with me for my breakfast. It was a mini one I promise. Just enough to keep my tummy from rumbling until i got back home.
I have to admit, Victoria did a fantastic job with my hair as I wanted it up but without any fuss......she exceeded my expectations. I made it very clear i did not want something that resembled the hairstyle my mother chose for my Holy Communion or Confirmation days. (Cringe) I was really delighted and look forward to booking in with Victoria again very soon. Here is a pic I took when i jumped into the car.....apologies about the pale/make-up free face; admittedly I go nowhere without my mascara........its my must-have beauty product!!!!!!

Once home, first stop was the fridge to make myself an action-packed fruit smoothie that would keep me going until after the service; without making me bloat. So included in my smoothie was, kefir, porridge oats, banana, cinnamon, strawberries, kale, spinach, mango, kiwi, organic hemp, water and acaia powder. Put all into blender and hey presto.........

After consuming my not to yummy looking smoothie (although it tasted amazing) it was straight to the bathroom to remove my mascara and then apply my make-up. I must admit, I was very relaxed and not rushed at all as I was getting ready......maybe that was due to the fact my husband had got up early to go down to his parents and wasn't around my feet or fighting over the bathrooms. The process was very smooth indeed .......
Once I was happy with my make-up, it was time to pack our suitcase with all the necessities and change of outfit for the next day. We decided to stay over and make a weekend of it. Before I knew it, David was home and it was almost time to leave Newry bound for the service at St.Lukes in Ballymoyer. Now is the time were I am going to bombard you with pics of the amazing floral arrangements by the very talent Maureen from Imagine Florists in Hillsborough.
Following the church service, we traveled to Dromore to our accommodation to leave off our luggage and then make our way to Larchfield. Before we left, i had to get a pic of myself and my very handsome husband.......
